The only Irish meeting for combined radiology, radiography and physics specialists. |
| What is it about? |
This one-day lecture series will cover MRI imaging from the physics, to protocol design and clinical applications with experts from here and abroad. It is aimed at trainees and those in full time practice, those in clinical and research posts and will cover basic to state of the art applications. |

Next year we are introducing a poster session session. We would be keen to encourage posters on scientific, educational quality assurance or audit related MRI topics to be submitted from MRI physics, radiography and radiology specialists. |

Annual Scientific Meeting
September 23rd - 25th 2010
ONLINE REGISTRATION
The Annual Scientific Meeting of the Faculty of Radiologists of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland will be held in the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland on Thursday, September 23rd until Saturday, September 25th, 2010. The theme of this year's meeting will be emergency radiology. There will be parallel sessions in Radiation Oncology. As usual, scientific sessions and a poster exhibition will form an important part of the meeting.
Submission of abstracts of Scientific Papers (7 minutes) and Posters is now invited.
Please state clearly whether you wish your abstract to be considered as an oral presentation or a poster presentation.
Abstract Formatting Instructions
Abstracts should be prepared using Microsoft Word. The abstract, which should not exceed 250 words in length, should be divided into: title (in bold), all authors names (first name initial, surname), department, institution name and location. Use the following titles for the main text of the abstract: Purpose, Materials and Methods, Results and Conclusion. Abstracts should be written in Times New Roman, font size 12, single line spacing, with no formatting. Any references must be listed at the end of each abstract. Abstracts not conforming to this submission format will not be accepted and returned to author. Please submit two versions of each abstract. The first should detail the authors, and the institution, with the name of the presenting author underlined. The second should be completely anonymised.
Please ensure that your full mailing address and contact details such as mobile phone, fax and e-mail are also included. (Please do not give an unattended office number.)
The Sylvester Boland Medal, of the Royal Academy of Medicine is open to all Radiology Registrars prior to completing FFRRCSI or FRCR. It will be awarded for the best Oral Presentation during the ASM. Please state clearly on your abstract submission if you wish to be considered for this medal, detailing your current year and hospital appointment.
The space available for each poster is AO and posters should be prepared in 'portrait' format.
An award will also be made for the best presentation of an audit in Clinical Radiology . We are grateful to the HSE who have sponsored a prize to be awarded for the best poster on this subject. This will be judged by Faculty members and a representative of the HSE.
Abstracts should be submitted by e-mail. Please send all submissions to radiologyscientific@rcsi.ie. The closing date, which is strictly final, is 3pm on 23rd April 2010.
