I specialise in musculoskeletal (MSK) imaging and intervention, with a particular focus on elite sports medicine. My current clinical work routinely includes diagnosing and treating professional athletes. I also deliver a dedicated lecture series on image interpretation for English Premier League Soccer Sports Medicine Consultants.
Teaching is a core passion of mine. While completing my fellowship at the University of Toronto, I was honoured to receive the “Excellence in Education” award for Radiology Fellows. I have presented at numerous Irish national meetings in recent years and use creative approaches to understand complex topics—such as demonstrating meniscal tears using orange segments.
My educational philosophy centres on fostering deeper clinical understanding through innovative teaching methods. I advocate for transitioning from static image teaching to dynamic “scroll-through” video formats, enabling more confident pattern recognition. I also emphasise accelerated learning through high-volume image exposure, prioritising visual engagement and familiarisation over text-based methods.
I am keen to contribute to the Faculty’s Board, particularly within the Education sub-committee. I am committed to enhancing SpR training by integrating modules on career development and decision-making, with the goal of equipping new consultants to thrive from the outset—balancing clinical strength with professional satisfaction, and contributing meaningfully to departmental quality.
