It is not necessary for a hospital or department to apply for recognition of internal credits for meetings such as MDMs etc. A record should be maintained of the activity / meeting for which internal credits are being claimed and a log of those attending will also need to be retained for 5 years. A sample certificate is available to download – this should be printed on paper with the logo of the hospital/department:
Please note that the the Faculty of Radiologists allocates credits for External Meetings held in Ireland only. Where external credits are awarded for professional development activities outside of Ireland, a certificate of attendance with identified awarding body should be retained. If you are hosting an event that is held annually, you must apply for accreditation each time it takes place – CPD approval cannot be carried forward. Similarly if you are applying for accreditation for events that are held on a regular basis, i.e. monthly, you must apply providing all dates for the event.
