The European Society of Radiology and the EuroSafe Imaging Steering Committee issue the EuroSafe Imaging Call for Action, a 12-point action plan to achieve EuroSafe Imaging’s objectives of promoting appropriateness in radiological imaging, maintaining radiation doses within diagnostic reference levels, using the ALARA principle and promoting the use of up-to-date equipment, empowering patients, and joining forces with various stakeholders.

The EuroSafe Imaging Call for Action was devised to support the implementation of the Bonn Call for Action, issued in 2012 by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the World Health Organisation (WHO) at the International Conference on Radiation Protection in Medicine: Setting the Scene for the next Decade. The conference identified responsibilities and proposed priorities for stakeholders regarding radiation protection in medicine.

By implementing the following 12 actions, EuroSafe Imaging will significantly contribute to achieving the aims in the ten priority areas of the Bonn Call for Action. Show your support for the EuroSafe Imaging Call for Action by signing up to become a Friend of EuroSafe Imaging!
